Coach...

What is Coaching?

Transition Resources offers you a partner on your life journey. The root definition of companion is “to eat of the same bread”. Throughout history, people who seek the fullest possible life have sought out resources to assist them in navigating thier life journey. In the over 30 years I have spent listening and supporting others I have been privileged to walk with women on their journey. I want to be your companion on the journey of life. Companions walk with you, watch out for signs on the road, alert of potential obstacles, and provide a kind of friendship along the way to the next destination.

As a coach I provide a one-on- one relationship focused on supporting and empowering you to move forward in your life. Coaching is an action-oriented process aimed at getting results. In the coaching relationship you set the agenda, and I serve as an objective sounding board helping to keep you focused and on track. As a companion in your process I want to walk with you as you break through old barriers and help you to develop new practices and behaviors that will allow you to reach your desired outcome.

Coaching is not therapy. Coaching is about developing strategic actions that will help you move forward. Coaching is not about explaining behaviors, delving into your past, or identifying pathology.

Coaching is not consulting. It is my job to ask powerful questions to draw out the answers that are already in you. My focus is on enhancing your competence and personal development, not on giving advice as to what action to take.

Although each person who comes to coaching has their own individual issue, all people who make the commitment to the coaching process have something in common. They know that they want to move forward in an area of their life, but they are not quite able to make it happen by themselves. Perhaps they are feeling stuck. They realize that they need someone to help them look at their issue from different angles and to point out where they may be getting hung up. They want to find a way to integrate all that they are, spiritually, emotionally and mentally. Gaining new perspectives enables you to become more creative and effective your search for solutions and new directions.
